A rich man was quietly living his life. Living the same life every day he was at one point lamenting how much money he had, I couldn't be happy.
To know that he lived a happy life, he packed a bundle of
money and jewels and started travelling on a horse with the bundle. He went to
many cities, saw many places, conversed with different kinds of people, and
conversed with sages and philosophers.
Even though he wanders
all over the city, he does not know that this is a happy life. While staying at
a monastery during his travels, he met a monk and told the monk in detail about
the problem that he was not pleased with.
The monk asked for all
the information about him and then asked what was in this bundle. The rich man
said, "I have a bundle of money and jewels. I will take these for my
expenses and travel." The monk asked, "Why are you so rich and
unhappy?" Yes, sir, no matter how much wealth I have, there is no
happiness in my life, I have told you about my problems that you will find a
way for that, said the rich man.
The ascetic, who had been silent, suddenly picked up his
money bag and ran away. The rich man, who did not know what to do, ran to chase
away the monk, and the monk ran a long way without getting caught in the hands
of the rich man and came back to where they were sitting and talking.
He gave it to the rich man who was running and said to keep
your bundle. There was so much happiness on his face; the rich man was
overjoyed that he got my money.
The monk looked at him who was very happy and asked,
"This bundle of money was with you and you still have it, but why are you
happy now?" The silent one looked at the saint as if he understood
something. Yes, happiness is only with you, when it is gone, you feel it. The
saint said that it is not happiness to have everything; it is happiness to have
nothing.
